project for the day
I'm almost afraid to show the inspiration picture, because it looks so much better than mine, but here goes.
I had an old wind chime that I had taken apart to re-work, but had never gotten to. So I pulled out the parts and used the pipes from it. Then I glued a finial to the top of a metal thing that I had and then I just started hanging stuff from it. I don't know if the chimer is too far away from the actual chimes for it to work right, but I like it anyway.
And Shelly, those are the prisms you left me on there, I love them, they are so big. I'm keeping this one for myself.
There are 2 sales tomorrow, can't wait.
See ya,

Fun with scales
I know I said plant stand before, but I like this better. These rose dishes and vintage napkins look great with the blue.
I also brought this dresser and mirror into my booth.
A little wood to contrast with all my painted stuff.
I really like that mirror thing on top. It's got 2 little drawers too.
I'm selling them separately, but they look nice together.

What became of that yucky coffee table?
I was especially tickeled by this response
"Mmmmm.... let me guess; paint it white with some distressing???"
Good guess Debbie, but not this time. Actually the table was not going to continue being a table at all.
I cut it, and painted it (very pale green, not white) and then yes I did distress it. But It's not a table anymore.
It's a wall shelf....
I added a piece of wider wood on the top to give it more display space, but beyond that, this was a pretty easy project. Once I got DH out there with the circular saw that is. I was afraid I'd cut off a limb if I tried it.
So that's my table project, I'm going to do the other side now for sale, and keep my eye out for more neglected coffee tables with great lines.

A couple of fun things
And then there is this table. Hummm, wonder what I'm gonna do with it???
Loyal readers will probably know. Do you know????
Stay tuned.

Pretty china Swag and a trip to the Police Station and a great store and site
here
Well we've got our estimates and the guy is refusing to pay. So it looks like we'll have to press charges. DH and I had to go down to the police station today and look at a photo line up. Frankly all the guys in the pictures looked alike. I told the officer if I could hear him speak I could probably pick him out. Dh was unable to ID which one it was either. Think about pictures of 6 guys, all with dark hair, and the only real difference was their weight. There were a few i could say it was "not" but I could not say for sure that it was any of them. It's not a necessary thing for us to prove he did it. He admitted to the officer that he had yelled at several people that day, but stopped short of admitting he hit our car. So the saga continues. I told you I'd keep you updated, and that is where it stands 1 month later. and my car is still dented.
Now for something happier...
I had a special order for a china swag made from red transferware. I got it finished this weekend and was real pleased with it.
I hope she likes it.

The neatest thing, and something completely different
I had seen it at the Gresham barn sale on preview night, but didn't pick it up because it was a little more than I usually pay for my junk. When Dh and I went back on the last day to see what of ours was sold, he saw it and liked it. When he commented on how cool it was I scarfed it up at 25% off the original price. I was really surprised it was still there.
It's some sort of art easle. The knobs turn and the illustration changes.
There is one scene with flags, one with birds, and another with nature stuff. Several with various types of script. I just love the B&W ones. Since I took these pics I've tucked a couple of books in the large center pocket. There is a place for what looks like chalk or pastels on the left under the spring. Not sure what the spring is for.
I'm sure I'll find things to tuck in the little cubbies. Here it is in it's new home in my office.
Kristi has shed some light on this item.
"My Grandparents had one of these. It was my Grandfathers student desk. The bottom part is supposed to have a chalk board attached to it. When my grandfather passed we moved the desk to our house. It hung in our kitchen, and my mom would leave us kids notes on it." Thanks Kristi.
I got inspired today to make something completely different. I went out to the barn, grabbed a frame. Grabbed various bits and pieces and some paint and came up with
this.
I really wish you could see the dimension, it looks a lot better in person.
I took a side view to try and show it's depth.
I'm real pleased, I'm calling it Architectural Miscalany #2.
That's all for now.

And The winner is....
If you didn't win, but would like some of the faucet flowers, I do sell them for 2.50 ea. Shipping costs will vary, depending on how many you want and where they are going. Just drop me a note if you are interested.
And thank you all for your opinions on the Wagon. I think I am going to pass for now, it is a bit pricey, even at the dealers discount. I'm sure I'll run across one in my huntings for less and when I do, I'll scoop it up.
Thanks to all my readers, lurkers, and posters. You keep me going and i appreciate you stopping by to read about my adventures. One year down, many more to go.
Love to you all,

Friday Finds and A Give Away
First I want to show you my recent finds.
This is a great old toy typewriter made of metal, the keys don't actually punch down
but the white ones do.
& I found this pewter Sugar
The white thing is some sort of wall pocket, it's dated mid 1950's and has the name of a
statuary company on it.
The 2 smaller things are coasters I think, They are made of wood and have Victorian type
paintings on them. Anyone know what they are called.
I love this hat box, and these tins are made by Daher, and there is a small collectors market for them.
Some cute small china plates, and Yes, another Longaberger for 50c, Woo Hoo!!!!
Aren't these dishes so pretty
Now I need your help:
this old wagon is for sale at the mall where i have my booth. It is $150 I really like it and would use it as a coffee table in my guest room/spare room, which is usually set up as a seating area, but the couch folds out for guests. It's my Junk experiment room, and where all my "projects" usually end up.
Now I need to know if you think I should get it. Is that a reasonable price? etc.
Let me know your advise. Update: I've had several bloggers recommend that I dicker a bit with the dealer, this IS the "negotiated price", It's her rock bottom.
Now for the give-away. I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary in blog land and I want to celebrate with a give away.
You'll get these cute folders, 2 of my quilt angels, 3 of my faucet flowers and 4 of my formica chip tags. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post.
I'll draw the winner on Sunday and I'll be sure to let you know.
Good Luck

What I got
I had lunch today with Vickie
and for those who read her blog, she is doing much better. It was nice to see her shining face again.
I have finished my large tin shelf, and It will be going up to the Antique Mall tomorrow. I have thought about keeping it for a future cottage room I'll be doing, but it's at least a year away, and By then I could make another if I need to.
And in my need for retail therapy this afternoon I picked up these beautiful folders.
I'm a sucker for this kind of thing.
The Gresham Barn sale started today with a preview night and here is what I picked up. It goes through Saturday so there is still time to get out there, they have got lots and lots of great stuff, and the prices are good too.
Some spindles, an old stamp holder thing
and this box of wire topiary thingies. They are not big, and they are oh so cute.
I see some painted pastel colors, like the duck and the rabbit (maybe white on the rabbit) I see some left as is, and other in black, like iron. They are definitely going in my booth.
That's all for now, You all have a great rest of the week.

A Few New Things
Well I decided to use them as "walls" in my booth.
I have a lot less wall space in this booth so I need all I can get. These work nicely. I've also added 2 china swags to my inventory
I really like this one, I love the colors in these dishes. And I was able to use my Periwinkle
pearls on it.
And here's a little "old lady" viniette I worked up today.
It's all coming along nicely. I've also got 3 items on ebay this week.
Well That is all for now, Hope you all have a great junkin week.

Today's Estate finds
At the same sale these pieces of old ceiling tin were just leaning against the fence, not marked, and when Inquired the price was right, so I picked them up.
I also got that old light fixture, a couple of unique ice trays, a china plate, some shoe stretchers, and an old coca cola bottle opener. I have ideas for much of it, but not the ice trays. I just couldn't pass them up because of their shape.
Have a great Friday.
